Kinja'd!!!

Spotted on the dash of the car next to me at Walmart this morning. A pre-made note, ready to deploy to an apparent repeat-offender improperly-parked car.

I don’t know about you but I think the rip makes it seem a little less official. Go for a nice piece of bright orange paper and laminate that sucker.

I think the tear makes it look like it’s already been used at least once!

“Private driveway” Okay so this specifically for that, then. Makes me wonder wha t the driveway looks like, that people keep try ing to park there.

Hot take, maybe they're the offender and haven't thrown it away yet.

taping it to the dash like a badge of honor?

I thought about that, but then, did the person throw it on the ground, then it was collected for re-use? This time of year it would have likely been ruined by snow, but who knows.

I’m guessing something in town (we live in a small town) where there are businesses and apartments all mixed together in lots of places. Some homes right next to businesses get tired of people using their driveways... maybe.

Maybe someone tried to shame them and it was actually their driveway?

Reminds me of a time where there was construction at my work so some parking lots were closed. The town nicely allowed us to park on a few specific streets with meters, without having to feed the meters. I did just that one day as the parking meter guy was coming down the sidewalk. I looked at him briefly and kind of smiled, I guess, then walked away from my car. He yelled to me from 100' away, “So you’re just going to walk away?!”

I stopped, turned and said, “umm, yes? I work at [acme widget factory] and was told we could street park here for free right now.”

Well, you have to have a valid permit displayed! Do you have that!? ( he’s still 50' from the car, walking slowly toward me)

Yes, I do.

Where? I don’t see it!

(I walked back to my car and pointed) It’s... here. on the driver’s side, rear door window, clearly displayed, in the precise location I was told to apply it by my work place. My windows aren’t tinted either , it’s just... right there.

Oh. Well I didn’t see it.

That’s because you were 50 feet away and behind and to the right of my car. Maybe you shouldn’t assume I was parking illegally RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU.

Ooof.

I’ve had people try to tell me that, clearly, it’s ok for them to block my driveway because I usually  street park my own car across the end of the driveway. Umm...no, that’s now how tha t works.

I used to live with friends in a home with a single lane driveway and there were many mornings where entitled parents would just completely block the driveway while dropping off their kid(s) at the school just down the street.

I don’t care if you’re only parked there for a couple of minutes, I’m leaving now  you dumb cunt.

This reminds me of the fake gas guzzler ticket someone put on my Cadillac in the university parking lot on Earth Day. Should have saved it, it was kind of funny.

But as long as they put on their 4-way flashers, it’s ok.

Plot twist: Maybe it was left on this person’s car!

I left a note on a car that was missing a great many lug nuts. They took it and left it on their dash for a while. I’d like to think they were saving it as a reminder.
